Samarbeidet mellom The Library of Congress og Flickr har blitt utvidet til et større prosjekt som heter The Commons. Her kan en se deler av fotosamlingene til bibliotek og museer og det er mulig å tagge eller kommentere bildene.
"The key goals of The Commons on Flickr are to firstly show you hidden treasures in the world's public photography archives, and secondly to show how your input and knowledge can help make these collections even richer."
I tillegg til Library of Congress har blant annet forskningsinstituttet og museumet Smithsonian Institution begynt å legge ut bilder på The Commons/Flickr.
